I am blogging my face off! I cannot tell you what an honor it is to be blogging with all you folks. It is so cool. The DVD I want to tell you about is Return of the Living Dead 2. It was a pretty good movie if you like crap.

What is a zombie movie without laughs? I think that this movie does a great job of mixing the gore with the humor. Somewhat crude in the special effects department in these days of CGI and Industrial Light and Magic. ROTLD manages to somehow make these shortcomings seem charming and lend the whole affair a genuine quality that would otherwise be missing if the movie took itself and its premise more seriously. Two medical supply wharehouse workers discover a mysterious barrel in the basement with Army markings. Not able to leave well enough alone they manage to accidentally open the barrel which emits a strange green vapor that spells doom for the pair and pretty much everyone else around them. With a great cast dressed in the trappings of early 80’s punkdom, there is probably something to love and laugh about in this movie for anyone born in the seventies. The ending is one of my favorite parts and jibes nicely with the whole 80’s theme. Not to be missed (by zombie movie lovers). Oh! And send more cops!
