Maybe it will make a comeback in 2010. I expect a new album from World/Inferno at least! This year's list is dominated by indie/alt. rock bands. That's not really my scene, but that's where the new, interesting music was coming from in 20009. The world of goth/industrial music continues to be dead, dead, deadski instead of undead, undead, undead. The problem in that scene is that genre bands are afraid to innovate; nearly every album that came from that quarter sounds exactly like something I've heard before. All in all though, 2009 was a kick-ass year for music fans! General observations:

Glad to see so many favorite bands continued to produce good stuff. I'll second the vote for Depeche Mode, they really carry the retro synth theme all the way on their new album.
