Radiohead – In Rainbows

Though discussion of Radiohead’s “What is this music worth to you?” pricing strategy and its relative success or failure has eclipsed discussion of the album itself, the question remains: is this worth paying for at all?  For fans of what Radiohead does, the answer is likely a resounding ”Yes.”; That is, In Rainbows sounds an awful lot like Radiohead; from the opening glitchy electronics of “15 Step” to the rainy-day moperock of “Reckoner,” Radiohead perform their reliable-and-recognizable version of postmodern musical introspection.  There really isn’t much in the way of surprises to be had on In Rainbows, but again, that might not matter to the Radiohead faithful.  Of the lot, only “Jigsaw Falling Into Place” recalls the paranoiac fire of OK Computer.  Radiohead stays relevant through sheer talent…here’s hoping that they push a little harder on their next album.
