The Venture Bros. is like Johnny Quest gone horribly wrong: twin brothers Dean and Hank Venture are naive and bumbling; their father, Dr. Thaddeus S. Venture, is a megalomaniac, pill-popping failure; Brock Sampson, the family bodyguard, prefers to solve all of his problems with a rather large bowie knife. And yet it still manages to be hilarious. Is it the mile-a-minute cultural references, the witty character banter, or absurd situations this unlikely group of adventurers find themselves in? Yeah, it’s some combination of those…and the fact that we love to laugh at the Monarch’s insane yellow costume.
