HorrorPops – Bring It On!
It seems like just last year I reviewed the first HorrorPops disc; we certainly didn’t have to wait very long for a worthy follow-up! The formula remains the same: rockabilly guitar licks, throbbing stand-up bass, bursts of punk attitude and New Wave cool. If anything, Patricia’s snarl has really come into its own on this record, on songs such as “You vs. Me” and “Caught in a Blond” she really goes for the throat. Bring It On! also shows the band taking greater strides in their song writing and makes good use of an extended range of dynamics. The band still isn’t afraid to step into new territory, as evidenced on the Western revenge murder ballad “S.O.B.” And yes, HorrorPops still have the market cornered when comes to great album covers.
