Gein and the Graverobbers – The Passion of the Anti-Christ

geinpacWith every album Gein and the Graverobbers bring something new and exciting to the spooky surf instrumental genre. This isn’t your dad’s “Theme from the Munsters”, The Passion of the Anti-Christ is ballsy, horrific, and as thrilling as a trip down to H-E-double-hockey sticks! Some of the riffs churned out by Gein and the gang are frightfully vicious; I imagine that if they were drenched in crunchy distortion they’s make for a killer heavy metal album, but the Graverobbers go a much less traveled route by slathering the proceedings in sweet Fender reverb. The cover art, song titles, and dedication to Satan might also fool the unwary into thinking that this is a thrashfest…I can only hope that some unsuspecting metalheads pick this up by mistake and are initiated into the charnel house that is Satan’s Favorite Surf Band.
