What do a laconic, gun-slinging fisherman, a small-town beauty queen, an airplane pilot, a pregnant woman, and two cops have in common? They’re all pitted together against a dual alien/zombie invasion in the film Undead. The premise of Undead is strictly B-movie material: strange meteorites fall to earth, turning everyone they strike into a shambling corpse intent on eating brains. Nevermind the plot, the movie plays it to the hilt with a combination of gore and slapstick comedy ala Dead Alive and Shaun of the Dead, with a dash of Tarantino gundrama added to the mix. Sure, the acting can get a bit dodgy and over-the-top, but the sheer oddity of this zombie flick is reason enough to give it a look.
