Nic Cage, Action Star! stars in this pseudo-pulpy modern-day Indiana Jones-lite as a treasure hunter looking for the treasure of the Templars. As with Pirates of the Caribbean this had a distinctly Disney feel to it, and not necessarily in a good way. Nic Cage and his hairplugs have spent their entire existences searching for this treasure and to find it they (cue dramatic music and voiceover) “must steal the Declaration of Independence!” Anyone who knows me knows I love Raising Arizona and the actor who played the lead. I do not like Nic Cage, Action Star! However, this movie could have used some of his too-tired trademark quirkiness, as this was just too white-bread to be truly enjoyable. It might as well have starred Robbie Benson, Scott Wolfe, or in his major motion picture starring debut… Josh Holloway.
