Cellular
I feel bad for movies that use trendy technology as their main plot device. At least films like Electric Dreams and Weird Science have fun, charming stories that help elevate them above the now-vintage computer kitsch. Cellular suffers from an unoriginal plot and terrible acting, thereby dooming this flick to obscurity faster than your neighbor can buy a better cellphone than yours. Kim Basinger and Chris Evans are annoying and unconvincing as the leads. William H. Macy is wasted as a dorky cop. Brainless, predictable action thriller that is almost as irritating as a telemarketer’s call.
