Quirky, smirky, plodding and slow, Bruce Campbell and Ossie Davis were not able to save this film. Bruce as Elvis: believeable. Ossie as JFK: understated. Bubba as entertainment: not in the current format. Hipsters nationwide might gasp (or merely draw thoughtfully on their clove cigarette) at this review, but it just didn’t click. Some nice pieces that didn’t fit together well. I like Bruce. I wanted to like this. The 90 minutes I spent watching this on a Friday afternoon would have been better spent watching the animated Highlander movie that came in the mail.
